BHUTANESE CUISINES

Every foreigner I met so far said to me I love Kewa Datshi which now officially I can say the Potato cheese is rated as the best dish. Don’t be surprised to see , a hill of rice on a Bhutanese plate with chilli and chesse dish along with some dry meat dishes namely Phaksa paa (pork dish) and Jasha maru ( chicken curry ) .

Momo Lovers Unite

Meat and Chilli and Rice is a common dish in every meal for a Bhutanese. Butter tea is another compulsory drink for a Bhutanese to drink along with the meals.

I encountered many of my clients , stating , Karma , no more of the soup , I had enough. Well , butter tea is normally good for highlanders to keep the body warm but excessive tea has high butter and salt content which could be bad for Blood pressure patients.

For vegetarians , its good news that Bhutan serves food that is lot closer to organic from the farm where its grown. Spinach , Pumpkins, Potatoes, green beans are easily available in local market . For people who love grains , Buckwheat and barley are also available. Snacks like Momo ( dumplings ) is very popular.

Almost every restaurant has Momos on their menu. Its very tasty that everytime I order it , I cant get enough not ordering 3 plates ( One plates normally serves 5 pieces ).
