Photography
Almost two decades ago, I started to enjoy photography. In the eighties and early nineties, we used the film rolls where the ISO rating was the highlight cover of the roll.
Sometimes when you are lucky you would get one or two extra exposures out of the 36 standard shots.
Each shot was taken meticulously with the ideal background and of course every click was one less exposure so we made sure every entry had a flawless exit.
Then came the film processing part and the excitement of how the photographs would turn out. Believe me, if we get all 36 prints , it was a joy of achievement .
We would gather around and look at the printed photographs again and again. The negatives , we used to preserve for reprints and those were cautiously stored away from sunlight and water .
Today ,I turn back and look at my album . All those photographs that were recorded were taken using film rolls . For me , I have experienced the journey of photography from then until now .
This day , even though with sophisticated DSLR camera attached to such expensive lens , I can never recall the feeling 20 years ago .
That feeling of the whole process from buying a film roll to processing , storing the negatives and everyone gathering to review the pictures were such priceless moment.
I guess that was the Art of Photography and today I am just enjoying the mimeograph of it. Well , it’s proven for me , the best things in life aren’t THINGS .
